Graduation: June 2008

Seventy-two students received their graduate degrees from the Graduate School of Engineering and Management on Thursday, 19 June. The ceremony was held in Kenny Hall, with Brig. Gen. C.D. Moore, Commander of the 478th Aeronautical Systems Wing delivering the commencement address.

Included among the graduates were six who earned the degree Doctor of Philosophy.

Two students were recognized for their exemplary performance. The Mervin E. Gross award for exceptional scholarship and high qualities of character, initiative, and leadership was presented to Lt. Col. Evan Pettus. The Edwin E. Aldrin, Sr. Award was presented to Maj. Sean Murphy for demonstrating strong personal leadership and accomplishing AFIT's education objectives in an outstanding manner.

The graduating class included seven Navy officers, five Army officers, one Air Force enlisted, and 13 civilians, along with three international students from the countries of Turkey and the Republic of Korea.

Eight students were designated as Distinguished Graduates. These, with their department and degrees earned, were:
